A little about me

Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about me.

I began my career at the bottom as a studio junior, and progressed quickly through the design industry to managing design studios for successful design consultancies. My background has covered advertising, branding and identity, web and I also took a couple of years out to work in print directly.

With a thorough grounding in all elements of design, I’ve progressed from working for corporate clients and their established identity work (Shell, Marks and Spencer, Tesco) to managing and developing identity and branding guidelines myself (RBS, NHS, Scottish Government).

In 2006, after almost ten years at a successful design studio in Edinburgh producing work for RBS (amongst others), I took the decision to work for myself. My interest in photography and image retouching led me to initial successes (Subway, Coca-Cola) and eventually led to the launch of Logo Portal in early 2007.

In Logo Portal’s first year I completed over 500 design projects, with a little help from some friends, and my portfolio continues to grow. As does the reputation of Logo Portal, and word-of-mouth recommendation accounts for a large part of the current projects.

My specialties:

  • Identity and branding design
  • Website design
  • Design for print (brochures, stationery, marketing materials)
  • Advertising
  • Image retouching (repair, manipulation)
  • Design project and studio management
